Hello!
With lots of pride and enthusiasm, I must tell you all about how iCarhireinsurance.com is making waves in the general insurance industry. To some, we are only considered a specialist low cost car hire insurance company, but as we growth our customer base and launch new products, we are starting to turn heads.
After launching our website earlier in the year (March 2010), in September 2010, we found out we were nominated for a prestigious award! The awards, given by leading insurance magazine Insurance Times
, described by Insurance Times Editor-in-chief, Ellen Bennett, as a celebration of ‘the best the insurance industry has to offer’. The award reflects iCarhire’s commitment to service delivery and growth.
We were nominated for the “Intermediary/Broker Innovation of the Year” at the Insurance Times Awards 2010. The judges were looking for companies who are pioneering in their field and who can demonstrate positive results from an overall business strategy that continually innovates and has successfully delivered a new service, product, and/or initiative during the past year, basically iCarhireinsurance.com
Looking for excellence in the highly competitive field of Personal Lines Insurance, the 19-strong judging panel's brief was to identify a company with the right combination of initiative, innovation, great service and, of course, outstanding products.
Personally, I think we do what we do so well because we make sure we put our customers first and adapt quickly to a fast-changing market environment. We understand the car hire industry and we understand car hire excess insurance, and that's why our clients see us as very much as the best out there. We were the first to offer car club members a car club excess insurance product, realising that they were in a similar situation when hiring a car e.g. having to pay for sky-high hire car excess insurance . That's what makes us unique vs our competitors.
This is a fantastic achievement and reflects brilliantly on all of our hardworking team who can all take great pride in the nomination. I take my hats to them!
Back to the Awards night...our host for the night was Chris Evans, who took over the Radio 2 breakfast show from veteran broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan. One of Britain’s best loved broadcasters, Chris originally made his name in radio before hosting a clutch of TV shows that defined 90s light entertainment in the UK - Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush, The Big Breakfast and TFI Friday. Anyhow, he was amazing and made the long ceremony very entertaining.
Our comedian for the night was Reginald D Hunter. Frequently described as the coolest man in comedy, he has become an established headline act. His powerful, straight-talking approach has won him awards, acclaim and a fast-growing reputation. Since those early days Reginald has toured his stand up shows all over the world and frequently appears on television. Reg’s credits include Have I Got News for You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and 8 Out Of 10 Cats. I must give this guy some car rental excess lingo so he can make a funny skit out of it.
