Worldwide Plus

The Worldwide Plus policy is ideal if you are renting a car in the USA or Canada where insurance is required but not included in the standard car rental agreement (you must buy them separately), as well as countries where you are liable to pay an 'excess' in the event of a claim (e.g. in Europe and most countries worldwide).

iCarhireinsurance's Worldwide Plus policy gives you comprehensive damage and theft insurance cover and helps you to avoid the expensive insurance cover offered at the car rental counter when you pick up your car. Our insurance policy includes the CDW/LDW cover required for driving in the USA and Canada and raises your level of insurance, to include the roof, windows, undercarriage and tyres of your rental car which are usually still excluded by rental companies' insurance policies. It also protects you against excess costs in all worldwide territories. That means you won't have to pay a penny (up to the value of £6,000) in the event of damage, fire, theft or vandalism. This policy may be ideal for comprehensive cover if you are driving a rental car through more than one Worldwide territory, including the USA and/or Canada.

iCarhire Excess Worldwide Plus policy covers all types of rental cars travelling in all countries covered by our Europe Excess, USA and Canada and Worldwide Excess policies.(See individual sections for details).

Collision/Loss Damage Waiver cover is not available in European territories, however excess insurance is covered in all territories including Europe.

It has the same features as all iCarhireinsurance’s other policies, but combined into one policy, enabling you to have peace of mind wherever you are in the world.

This policy covers CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and LDW (Loss Damage Waiver) in countries where car rental insurance is not included in the rental price (including in the USA, Canada and the Caribbean). It covers Excess charges in the countries where CDW/LDW is included in the rental price but Excess is charged, including the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and most parts of the Far East and Asia.

Please note that this policy covers damage and theft to the rental vehicle. It does not provide any additional 3^rd party liability protection (often referred to as SLI) which is offered at some rental locations to top up the level of statutory liability cover that is provided with your rental vehicle.

Your car rental company will usually give you the option to buy CDW/LDW and SLI cover for the USA and Canada, as well as excess insurance cover when you collect your hire car. But since these are 'last minute' purchases you will end up paying more than you need to for insurance cover - and the roof, windows, undercarriage and tyres may still not be included in the price. iCarhireinsurance's Worldwide Plus annual cover starts from only £99.99, and can be great value even if you only hire a car once in the entire year. It replaces the CDW/LDW and Super CDW policies that you will be offered by your rental company, but does not replace the separate Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) that you will also be offered at the collection point.
